Opportunities if you stop learning. Software testing is ongoing process. "Lessons Learned in Software Testing - A Context Driven Approach" is one of the books in my library I would like to recommend to you. Eleven years of context-driven They could all be spokespeople for this approach, and their voices are as valid as any of the CDT “founders.” This leads to the second point. You can find an extensive list of presentations and courses that I've taught, including the slides and speaker notes for many of them, here. A few weeks ago, a colleague of mine tweeted an assertion that the context-driven testing school “censures” people who advocate for best practices. At this point, I think the list is more a collection of fans of Bach & Bolton's Rapid Software Testing approach than of context-driven testing. Koen (a winner of ASEE's Sterling Olmsted Award) writes about the pervasiveness of heuristics in all areas of engineering: see his books: Discussion of the Method: Conducting the Engineer's Approach to Problem Solving (2003) and Bret, James and I wrote Lessons Learned in Software Testing. The above principles had been described in a wonderful book – Titled: "Lessons Learned in Software Testing-A context Driven Approach" by Cem Kaner These principles fascinated me & I am sharing with my readers. We worked on a number of things, but the principal outcome was a statement of the premises on which Rapid Software Testing—our classes and our methodology—are based. Cem, James Bach, and Bret Pettichord wrote Lessons Learned in Software Testing; the sub-title of that book is “A Context-Driven Approach”. Book Recommendation - Lessons Learned in Software Testing. From the inception of the book Lessons Learned in Software Testing (this book is dangerous, as one reviewer said, so I won't link to it) where the basis for context-driven testing was founded until today, we might now expect for some self- organization to kick in. Is it because Testing/Verification activities are part of the other 'phases' or steps in software development, so surely we should be able to manage all that, right? Every project, every question, new context would teaches you new lesson. Around the same time I became a closet disciple of James Bach and the context driven community after reading Lessons Learned in Software Testing. Awareness of myths, old practices like scripted testing approach, agile testing, context driven testing community and testing certifications; Writing Bug reports; Mind Puzzles; Introduction to software testing tools; Scripting language which will help you to build your own tool. Perl; Practice, practice and practice sessions. The idea that there's no knowledge base for context-driven testing to be built on is silly. That declaration and some clarifying remarks at www.context-driven-testing.
